Making A Change
ARE YOU READY FOR CHANGE?

Change can be difficult for many of us and, of course, is not always an easy accomplishment. In order to begin to consider change, we need to identify which stage of change we are in.
There are four stages of change:
- “I can't or won't change”
- “I may change”
- “I will change”
- “I have already changed”
Which stage of change BEST describes where you are right now? Remember — coaching accepts you where you are at this time, and coaching can be effective in any of these four stages. The importance here is to realize where you are in order to determine what the next step is.
Next — ask yourself these questions:
- WHY do I want to change? What is my personal motivation for change?(pros)
- Why do I NOT want to change? What are all the reasons to stay the same?(cons)
- What would need to be in place in order for me to be able to overcome not wanting to change? (Strategies, Support, Motivators)
